Originators of tomato "Concord F1" GREENOMICA LTD (London/Moscow). The new variety was included in the State Sort Register of the Russian Federation in 2018 with a permit for cultivation in film greenhouses throughout Russia.
Variety advantages: large-fruited, high yield, excellent taste and commercial qualities, fruits are protected from sunburn.
Characteristics of the variety
Plant of vegetative type, strong, compact, with short internodes. Up to the trellis, two more brushes are laid than with other hybrids. Foliage – numerous, large, dark green, located semi-horizontally. Inflorescences – simple or intermediate type, 6-10 fruits each. The first inflorescence is formed over 9-11 leaves, then – every three sheets.
Fruits round-flat (shape index 0.7-0.8), large, tasty. The average weight of one tomato is 190-240 gr., the maximum – 280-300 gr. (with rationing of brushes up to 4-5 fruits). Peel – glossy, dense, protected from sunburn. The color of tomatoes at biological maturity is bright red, at technical maturity – green, no stain. Transportability and marketability of – high. Purpose: salad.
Yield. Early indeterminate hybrid "Concorde F1" enters the ripening stage 90-100 after germination. The yield of marketable fruits in film greenhouses is 9-10 kg/m².
Immunity. The variety has increased resistance to mosaic virus, Fusarium wilt, Verticillium and Cladosporiosis.
Growing conditions: "Concorde F1" grown indoors – film greenhouses of the 1st and 2nd turnover, on lightly salted or neutral soil.
For a more saturated color of the fruit, higher doses of potassium-containing fertilizers and moderate nitrogen supplements are recommended.
So that the tomatoes do not come into contact with the surface of the ridge, the first brush is normalized for 3 fruits.
Seedling selection
Before you buy seedlings of "Concorde F1" tomatoes, inspect them carefully.
A quality healthy seedling:
- Shrubs – no more than 30 cm high, branched. The stem is strong, but not thick (the diameter of a regular pencil).
- Leaves – few (7-12 pcs.), whole, elastic, raised up.
- Roots – shaped, moist, undamaged.
- The color of the seedlings is rich green.
- Age 1.5-2 months.
Signs of diseased and poor-quality seedlings:
- Egg laying on the bottom of the leaf. Brown, dark spots and mold on the plant.
- Wrinkled, deformed or yellowed leaf blade.
- The excessive thickness of the stems and lush large foliage indicate abundant fertilization of seedlings with nitrogen fertilizers, which significantly reduces the yield of tomatoes.
- Pale, thin, weak stems and leaves indicate a lack of light when growing seedlings.
Beware of fakes and diseased planting material! Buy tomato seedlings "Concord F1" in nurseries and specialized stores.
