Raspberry saplings Gusar

The raspberry variety Gusar was obtained by a group of Russian breeders of the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution of the Federal Scientific Center for Horticulture under the leadership of I. Kazakov by pollinating the American raspberry Kenby with varieties resistant to viral diseases. In 1999, it was included in the State Register of the Russian Federation.

Variety advantages: high immunity to diseases and pests, early ripening.

Variety features

Planthigh, up to 2.7 m, powerful. The bush is spreading. Requires a tie to a support. Stems of the 2nd year are straight brown with a wax coating, spiny in the lower part. The foliage is large, wrinkled. A plate with pointed teeth, slightly twisted.

Fruitscone-shaped with a rounded tip, medium-sized. The average weight of ripe berries is 3.2 gr., color – red. The pulp is juicy, aromatic, with sourness. Tasting assessment – 4.2 points out of 5.

Purpose: the variety is suitable for fresh consumption, canning.

Productivity Hussar is good – up to 4 kg from a bush, 83.6 c. per hectare. Ripening terms – early, at the beginning of July. Raspberries have time to give up the whole berry before the cold weather.

Immunityto viral diseases and pests is high. Rarely affected by weevil, gall midge.

Growing conditions. Raspberry Gusar is unpretentious in care. Wax coating prevents the rapid evaporation of moisture, which increases the drought resistance of the plant. The variety tolerates temperatures as low as –25°C, hibernates under a layer of snow.

Hive life cycle – 20 years old.
