Summer raspberry variety "Lyachka" launched in 2006 in Poland. It got its name in honor of the Polish city of Laska. Due to its unpretentiousness, good yield, excellent taste and appearance of fruits, – raspberry Lyachka has gained popularity both among the owners of six acres and among reputable agricultural firms that grow berries on an industrial scale.
Varie Features
Lyachka – semi-shrub with straight, strong, elastic stems, up to 2.5 m high. Young shoots are green, thorny. At the same time, the spikes are quite soft and do not interfere with harvesting. Second-year stems are brown, lignified. At the end of the harvest, they dry out and must be pruned.
The leaves of the plant are oval, toothed, deep green, pubescent along the edges. The flowers are small, collected in brushes of 6-12 pieces. Raspberries begin to bloom early at the end of April – May. The specific period depends on the region where the variety is cultivated.
Fruits «Lachki» bright red, oval, large (weighing 6-8 grams, up to 3-5 cm long). The taste of the berries is sweet, but not cloying (9 out of 10 points), the pulp is juicy. Raspberry drupes are large, covered with a dense fleshy shell, due to which they do not crumble when harvested and tolerate transportation well. Lyachka is excellent for both fresh markets and canning – fragrant jams, fruit drinks, tinctures are obtained from its delicious berries.
The yield of the variety "Lyachka" above average: 15-20 tons of berries are harvested from 1 hectare per season, from each bush – up to 3-5 kg.
Ripe the fruits of "Lyachki" start quite early: in the southern latitudes – in June, in the northern regions (in the open field), the start of the dates may be shifted to July. The fruiting period of raspberries is stretched & nbsp; – the harvest is harvested right up to the autumn frosts.
Planting and care
In general, the Lyachka raspberry variety is unpretentious in care, does not need special conditions for development and fruiting: it is not afraid of frost and winds, tolerates harsh climate well, and is resistant to most pests and fungal diseases. However, there are a number of simple rules, following which you will ensure a good harvest of berries every season.
Selection of seedlings. Yield quality of the variety "Lyachka" primarily depends on the choice of planting material. When purchasing seedlings, pay attention to the root system. The main signs of root health – developed fibrous appearance, long (from 20 cm) moist roots. It is advisable to purchase seedlings with a closed root system, a clod of earth dug along with a seedling. Such a plant will be less damaged during transplantation and adapt faster in a new place.
The second sign of a healthy seedling – escape state. It should be WITHOUT signs of disease, spots, peeling, growths and dry patches. Green flesh should be visible under the bark. The height of the main shoot – up to 25 cm, minimum thickness – 5 mm. Number of kidneys – at least 3.
It is most safe to purchase raspberry seedlings of the Lyachka variety; in specialized nurseries, where their health and quality are monitored by experienced farmers.
Landing. Raspberry Lyachka is quite adaptive to any growing conditions – tolerates shading and small drafts well, but in a sunny area it will feel just fine. It is important to ensure that the bushes have enough moisture, but at the same time avoid stagnant water and waterlogging of the soil.
They land the "Lyachka" early spring or autumn. One of the two classic methods is suitable for landing – bush or tape. However, experienced gardeners prefer the second. To do this, dig trenches measuring 40x40 cm, leaving a distance between the rows – 1.5 m. Before planting seedlings, a complex fertilizer for fruit and berry plants or a mixture of earth, compost, manure and peat is introduced into the trench. All this is mixed with soil and poured with plenty of water.
Raspberry bushes are placed in trenches, retreating 50 cm from the neighboring one. They make sure that the roots are straightened, and the deepening of the seedling does not exceed 15 cm. Then the trench is covered with earth. In this case, the root collars of plants should protrude slightly above the surface. The soil is compacted and watered abundantly. The ground shoot is cut to 10 cm. At the end of all procedures, the soil at the roots is mulched.
Under the weight of the harvest, the tall stems of "Lyachka" they begin to bend down to the ground so that this does not happen, raspberries are tied to 2-row trellises, the upper wire is placed at a height of 1.8-2 m.
Watering. "Lyachka" does not tolerate drought – ceases to form new shoots, give fruit ovaries, the plant gradually dries up. Therefore, raspberries need timely watering, especially during the period of fruit formation. It is better to water the bushes infrequently, but plentifully, avoiding waterlogging of the soil and stagnation of moisture. Sprinkling is excellent for these purposes.
In damp, with a lot of precipitation, summer raspberries can not be watered. During the dry season, the soil in the root zone can be mulched. The mulch will retain moisture in the soil and prevent the plants from drying out between waterings.
Feeding. In early spring, a complex fertilizer or urea is applied to the soil, in the fall – organics. During the season, plants are fed with complexes to enhance growth and increase yields.
"Lyachka" has excellent immunity to almost all diseases and pests that affect raspberries. In addition to the stem gall midge. Therefore, agricultural technicians recommend to carry out prevention – in early May, treat the bushes with insecticides. If you notice spherical growths on the shoots, then the gall midge has managed to lay eggs. Such shoots should be immediately cut and destroyed outside the site.
Cutting. At the end of the season, the tree-bearing, woody shoots are cut out at the root, not even leaving stumps.
In early spring, damaged and weak stems are removed during the wintering period. The remaining – shorten, cutting off the top by 15-20 cm. Hardy strong shoots give up to 10 young branches, which later bloom and bear fruit.
During the season, they make sure that the plantings do not thicken, cut off the offspring of excess replacement branches.
Preparing for winter. In cold regions with deep snow, before the onset of cold weather, raspberries are removed from the trellis, tied into bunches and bent to the ground. At the same time, they leave a distance to the surface of the earth – at least 40 cm. In southern latitudes, raspberries are not bent down.
In regions where frosts constantly alternate with thaws, or there is a lack of snow cover, the area is additionally covered with agrofiber. In severe frosts, below -30 ° C, the buds on the stems can freeze out, therefore, in areas with severe winters, the raspberries are additionally insulated.
