Enrosadira — Italian remontant raspberry of early ripening. Tutaymer variety, which is perfect for amateur and industrial cultivation, was bred in 2004 in the Vivai Molari nursery. (Faver, Italy). After sowing the seeds, the breeders received seedlings, which since 2008 have been propagated by asexual root cuttings. At the international exhibition MACFRUT, in the Italian city of Rimini, Enrosadira received a gold medal in the category: "Best Variety".
Varie Features
The shoots of Enrosadira are vigorous, upright, the average height in the season is 1.75 m, the maximum – up to 2.5 m. Young shoots are juicy green, shoots of the second year acquire a light brown or grayish-orange hue. Raspberry stalks are slightly covered with thorns. The leaves are green, oval in shape with a pointed nose. The flowers are white, medium size, 1 cm long. This variety is characterized by a powerful, branched root system, which provides raspberries with drought resistance and responsiveness to root feeding.
The Enrosadira crop yields consistently high – up to 25 t/ha, with up to 90% of first-class fruits. Ripening dates for berries may vary depending on the region of cultivation. On the shoots of the current year in the southern latitudes, raspberries begin to ripen in mid-July. In the Middle lane and Siberia – at different dates in August. On last year's shoots, raspberries ripen as well as on early varieties of summer raspberries. The period of autumn fruiting is extended to 60-70 days. When planting raspberries in tunnels: in the south, the plant gives the entire crop in September, in open ground and in more northern areas it bears fruit until early November.
In general, most of the Enrosadira crop ripens on the last year's shoots in early summer. On the shoots of the current year – raspberry yield is 25-30% less.
The fruits of this raspberry variety are quite attractive, light red bright color with a glossy sheen, elongated conical shape, slightly pubescent. The pulp is juicy, sweet, with a thick raspberry flavor. The berries are large and very large, aligned, one-sized (long – 3 cm, width – 2 cm). The average fruit weight is 6-8 gr., the maximum – 10-12 gr.
The consistency of the berries is fleshy, dense, the skin is elastic, the drupes are tightly linked. When harvested, the fruits of Enrosadira are easily removed, do not crumble, perfectly resist mechanical stress, are highly transportable, keep good quality, and retain their presentation for a long time (with proper cooling up to 10-11 days after harvest).
The variety is suitable for personal consumption, sales in wholesale and retail markets, decorating and filling desserts, drying, freezing, canning and other types of processing.
Enrosadira has proven frost resistance down to -25°C. Resistant to major diseases and pests: fading shoots, rust, root rot, purple spotting.
Planting and care
Due to the fact that the terms of ripening of fruits on branches of different ages do not coincide with Enrosadira, it is necessary – observe agricultural practices. Harvest ripening berries in time so that the plant does not deplete. Regularly kill weeds immediately so that they do not take away nutrients. Provide air exchange to raspberry roots by loosening the soil.
Water raspberries should be carried out in a timely manner, while not over-wetting. With excess moisture – berries lose their commercial qualities, and with its lack – shrink and begin to dry. In a drought, Enrosadira is watered once every 7-8 days, so that the soil is moistened to a depth of 0.5 m. A few days before harvesting, watering the plants is skipped, so the berry becomes sweeter.
Pruning raspberry bushes depends on how many harvests you want in a season. One harvest – raspberries are cut under the root in late autumn or early spring (recommended), leaving no stumps. Two crops – remove 2-year-old shoots, broken, frozen and diseased branches. In both cases, shoots are rationed during the season: extra stems are cut out, which thicken the rows.
Feeding Enrosadiras are produced regularly, as remontant raspberries consume 2 times more nutrients than regular raspberries. Three times a season, organic matter is introduced into the ground (manure diluted with water or chicken droppings) – up to 5 liters per 1 m² plantations. Nitrogen is added in spring, in summer – nitrophoska and potash fertilizers. Nitrogen is not applied in autumn, in this case, the growing season of raspberries is extended and interferes with wintering.
In preparation for winter shoots are removed from the trellis and bent down. Bushes cover. For these purposes, cardboard and coniferous spruce branches are suitable. The lower parts of the branches are protected from rodents with polyethylene or burlap. Shelter is removed from raspberries in the spring immediately with the onset of heat.
