Blackberry variety Loch Tay – native of Scotland. It appeared in Russia in 2011 and became popular due to its early ripening, adaptation to any climatic conditions, resistance to pests and fungal diseases.

Loch Tay belongs to the commercial varieties of blackberries, on average it produces 15 kg of large berries per bush. And the absence of thorns simplifies harvesting.
Loch Tay blackberries have a high shelf life and are excellent for transportation to retail outlets. For these qualities, the variety is appreciated by farmers interested in providing the market with fresh berries.

The first berries of Loch Tey appear already in mid-June in the southern regions, with a colder climate – a little later. The crop ripens in the first half of July. Ripe fruits are quite large – up to 8 grams, black, with a fruity aroma and a sweet taste with a slight sourness.

This blackberry variety reaches its peak of fruiting at 4-5 years.
