Early ripe high-yielding potato variety "Lina" bred by employees of the Siberian Research Institute of Plant Growing and Breeding in 1978. The culture is successfully cultivated in areas with a northern and temperate climate: Eastern and Western Siberia, the North Caucasus, the Urals, and the Far East regions. Also "Lina" popular with gardeners in the Moscow region and the Leningrad region.
Variety advantages: high yield; resistance to adverse weather conditions (drought, cooling, temperature changes); unpretentiousness in care; immunity to a complex of pathogens.
Varie Features
Plant. Potato stems are light green, tall, erect, with few branches, medium leafy. Leaves are small. Flowers numerous, small, white. By the time the fruits are fully ripe, the tops dry out.
Tubersoval in shape with a few eyes. Fruit weight 105-250 gr. (little things are almost non-existent). Peel – yellow, smooth, elastic. Pulp – white with a cream tint, quite dense. The starch content is 12-18%. Evaluation of taste qualities by the State Sort Commission – 4.7 points. Potatoes are moderately crumbly, suitable for frying, baking, releasing chips (the slices do not fall apart).
Due to the high commercial characteristics (78-99%), keeping quality (95%), transportability and long shelf life of root crops, – "Lina" valued in the market.
The yieldof the variety is high: 250-500 centners of root crops are harvested from 1 ha; from 1 bush – 7-11 marketable tubers. The result is influenced by compliance with agricultural technology, climatic conditions and soil quality. Potato ripening period is 75-90 days (from germination to harvest).
Immunity. "Lina" resistant to cancer, late blight. Receptive – to the golden potato nematode.
Planting and care
Potato "Lina" not whimsical in care, easily adapts to weather conditions. Subject to elementary agricultural technology, it grows and yields in almost any climatic zone.
Deadlines. Planting seed potatoes is carried out after the earth warms up to + 8 ° C to a depth of 10 cm. Mostly in late spring, in the second half of May. In the southern regions, the timing may shift to the left.
Soil. Best of all "Lina" bears fruit on loose sandy or loamy soil, fertilized with organic matter and minerals. Soil enrichment at the site is carried out in the fall. The earth is dug up with cow / horse manure and superphosphate.
Water. During prolonged drought, potatoes should be watered more frequently: every 7-10 days. At the same time, it is important not to get carried away with irrigation, because. excess moisture can lead to rotting of the roots and tubers. With a moderately warm and humid summer, potatoes are watered, focusing on the condition of the soil, 2-3 times per season. During the rainy season – the water supply is stopped.
Hilling «Lina» carried out 2 times during the growing season: when the plant reaches 15 cm in height and during flowering. The earth is poured on 2/3 of the bush.
Feeding. 1-2 times per season, foliar top dressing can be carried out with mineral compounds for potatoes based on potassium, nitrate, superphosphate. This will improve the quality of the tubers and increase the yield.
Planting material. Seed potatoes "Lina" must weigh more than 30 grams, but less than 100. The ideal weight – 40-65 gr. It is best of all to select uniform, even, healthy tubers. Deformed, damaged and spoiled seeds are not suitable for planting.
Beware of counterfeit planting material! Buy seed potatoes "Lina" in nurseries and specialized stores.
