The plant is an annual, dwarf with numerous shoots. Leaves are thyroid, white - green. Flowers solitary, up to 5 cm in diameter, of various colors, with a long spur. Nasturtium is thermophilic. Loves loose moist soils and bright sunny places. On rich soils it grows rapidly, to the detriment of flowering. Watered abundantly. Seedlings are sown in April. Shoots in 14-20 days. The optimum seedling temperature is 15-18 °C. Dwarf nasturtium is planted on discounts, in borders, containers.
Due to the variegated leaves, the "Alaska" mixture is decorative even before flowering. Leaves, flowers and immature seeds of nasturtium can be eaten.
