Perennial herbaceous plant. The flowers are collected in long pyramidal racemes. After flowering, it is necessary to cut the flower stalks so that a second wave of flowering appears. The leaves of the lupine are openwork, dull green, on long petioles, palmately divided. Lupins are unpretentious, drought- and frost-resistant, feel good on any garden soil. Grow well in both shaded and sunny places. Thanks to nodule bacteria living on the roots, they themselves are able to enrich the soil with nitrogen. Does not require shelter. Seeds for seedlings can be sown in March-April or in open ground, in a permanent place, from May to July, as well as before winter. At a temperature of 18-22°C shoots appear in 7-10 days. In stage 2 of true leaves, they dive into separate pots. The grown seedlings are planted in a permanent place or thinned out, keeping a distance of 50x50 cm.
Used in single and group plantings, lupins are suitable for mixborders and rabatok, good partners for dicentra, lychnis, anemone, cyanosis, aconite, astilba. In the style of a modern garden, lupine is one of the most exquisite decorations.
