A houseplant with dark green leaves and large (up to 5 cm in diameter) bright flowers, very similar to periwinkle flowers. Quaranthus can be grown as an annual. The bush is compact, begins to branch early, prefers a warm, sunny location, protected from cold winds. The earth mixture is prepared from equal parts of sod and leaf soil, humus, peat and sand. Seeds are sown at the end of winter and early spring, sprinkled with a small layer of earth. Sowing must be covered with a dark film, since catharanthus requires complete darkness for germination. Seedlings appear after 7-10 days at a temperature of 24-27°C. Seedlings dive at the stage of 2 true leaves in pots. In the future, young plants are transplanted into pots or planted in the spring in open ground, when the threat of frost has passed. Flowering at the catharanthus begins 4-6 months after germination.

Kataranthus will be a great decoration for rooms, balconies and loggias, and is also perfect for decorating flower beds, creating low borders, as it is very drought-resistant and tolerates heat.
