An annual climbing plant. Another name for hyacinth beans or curly lilac. An interesting feature of dolichos is that it wraps around the supports counterclockwise. The leaves are large, heart-shaped, the color of the leaves of the leaves is dark purple. Moth fragrant flowers are collected in elegant long inflorescences (up to 40 flowers in a brush!), Formed in the axils of the leaves. Dolichos requires a warm, well-lit place, otherwise it develops slowly and weakly, blooms late. Liana needs support. The soil for growing dolichos is preferably loose and nutritious, sufficiently moist. Does not tolerate acidic soils. Dolichos seeds need to be scarified, and then soaked for a day in warm water (periodically change the water!). Sow prepared seeds one by one in pots (depth 2.5 - 3 cm). Developing seedlings need support.
Clianas are successfully used for landscaping the walls of houses, arbors, pergolas, fences. Dolichos looks beautiful in the garden next to bright flowers with a contrasting color.
