An annual plant. Variety type Harts (Ray). Large-flowered, spectacular group of asters. Plants with a very low branching strong stem and powerful uniform inflorescences. The flower is exceptionally large, up to 18 cm in diameter, with a characteristic graceful shape. The petals are long, twisted into thin tubules. The shape, size and quality of the flowers are excellent for cutting. This group can be successfully grown in greenhouses in spring and autumn. The plant is photophilous, cold-resistant (it can endure frosts down to -3-4°C). Prefers loose nutrient soils. Needs watering during dry season. Care normal – weeding, careful loosening, 2-3 fertilizing with mineral fertilizers. Seeds are sown at the end of March – early April. Shoots appear on the 7-14th day. When the first true leaf appears, the seedlings dive. If the hypocotyl knee of the seedlings is very extended, then when picking, they can be deepened almost to the cotyledon leaves. Seedlings can be planted in open ground from mid-May. Spring and winter sowing in the ground is possible.
In landscaping, asters are used very widely. They are planted in flowerbeds, discounts, mixborders, in groups.
