Yield and ripening terms. Fruiting bushes begin 3 years after planting. Starting from the 4th season, blueberries give 5-6 kg of berries per bush. Ripening dates for Brigitte Blue are late – second half of August. Therefore, in the northern regions, there are high risks of not waiting for the entire crop to ripen.

Immunity. The variety is resistant to most diseases of fruit and berry crops. As a prevention of their occurrence, spring treatment with biological preparations is recommended. It is also important to prevent excess and stagnation of moisture in the area around the root zone of the bushes.

Growing conditions

Brigitta Blue blueberry is resistant to temperature changes and bears fruit well even in cool summers. At the same time, the frost resistance of the bushes is low. In regions where winter temperatures drop below –15°C, blueberries are insulated for the winter – cover with agrofibre, and mulch the soil under the bush.

The soil for planting blueberries should be nutritious (preferably with peat), acidic (pH 3.5-5.0) and well drained.

Brigitta Blue – self-fertile, i.e. can set fruit without cross-pollination. But to increase the yield and quality of berries, next to it we recommend planting blueberries of other varieties that bloom at the same time.
