Perlite

The soil is mixed with perlite to improve the structure. It becomes loose, breathable, does not cake and does not dry out. The low thermal conductivity of perlite protects the root system of plants from overheating and hypothermia. Maintains a stable level of humidity.

Purpose

  • Ideal for improving the structure of the substrate, creating an optimal water-air balance.
  • Provides an optimal supply of air to the root system and helps to remove excess moisture.
  • Has a positive effect on water permeability, which is favorable for moisture distribution.
  • Improves the moisture and air capacity of the soil.
  • Draws up moisture from the lower layers of the soil in moments of acute water shortage in the upper layer.
  • Loosen, improve, lighten the structure!

Uses

  • Additive for flower soil
When preparing the flower soil, add perlite to the soil at a ratio of 2:8 by volume and mix.
  • Growing seedlings
Mix by volume 10% perlite and 90% soil. Fill the seed pots with the mixture. Moisturize by spraying.
  • Rooting the cuttings.
Mix equal volumes of wet perlite and moistened soil and fill the pot with the resulting mixture. Place the cuttings in the mixture, lightly compact in place and water well.
  • Package for storing the bulbs
Fill the container with perlite to a depth of 2-2.5 cm. Place the bulbs on this layer and cover with perlite. Occasionally moisten the material with a light spray.
  • Drainage for potted crops
Before planting plants in pots or nursery containers, place a 5 cm layer of perlite on the bottom of the container or pot.
