The newest potato variety Sokur – achievement of Siberian scientists, employees of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is included in the State Register of the Russian Federation after testing in 2021, although the work on breeding the variety lasted almost 15 years. "Sokur" recommended for cultivation in the Siberian region.

Variety Features

Plant of intermediate type, low, erect. The foliage is medium in size, dark green, open. The corollas are small, on the inside they are painted in anthocyanin.

Tubers elongated-oval shape, medium large size, weighing 99-115 gr. Peel – red with small eyes. Pulp – yellow. Taste – good, 8-9 points out of 10.

Purpose of variety: table, suitable for cooking.

Starch content – 19.4%. Marketability – 83%. Keeping – 89%.

Productivity of marketable tubers is 199-232 centners per hectare. Maximum productivity – 360 c/ha, which is 206 centners higher than the standard (Novosibirsk region).

Potato ripening terms – medium, 80-100 days from germination.

Immunity to the golden cyst nematode at the genetic level. Sokur is resistant to the causative agent of cancer, moderately susceptible to late blight of tops and tubers.
