A perennial plant grown as an annual in Siberian conditions. The bushes are compact, the foliage is dark green, the shoots end with an inflorescence – brush up to 25 cm long, bright red. Salvia is warm and photophilous. Likes fertile, loose soils. It is drought-resistant, but at the moment of intensive growth needs watering. Transplant tolerates well, even in flowering form. For better tillering, seedlings can be pinched. Care consists in timely weeding, loosening the soil and top dressing with complex mineral fertilizer before the start of mass flowering.

Seeds for seedlings are sown from the second half of March. At a temperature of 23-25 °C shoots appear in 10-14 days. Plant in the ground when the threat of frost has passed. Salvia is planted in flower beds, in discounts, in groups, mixborders, as well as in containers, balcony boxes, garden vases. Combined in plantings with cineraria, lobelia, marigolds.
