Very spectacular perennial plant, forms a compact bush 35-40 cm high with a bronze – brown foliage. The flowers are bright, orange-red, 3-3.5 cm in diameter, collected in a corymbose inflorescence. Prefers sunny places with well-drained soil, winter-hardy, unpretentious. Needs abundant watering in dry weather. At the end of flowering, cut off the flower stalks. Light shelter is required for the winter. Seeds for seedlings are sown in March-April or in open ground from May to the first decade of August. At a temperature of 18-20 °C shoots appear in 20-25 days. In the phase of 2 true leaves, the seedlings dive.
This plant, unusual in color, looks most impressive in containers and is ideal for decorating small patio gardens. Lychnis "Vesuvius" planted in flower beds to create spectacular bright spots.
