An annual plant. The name of the plant comes from the Greek word «cosmos» - decoration. The plant is highly branched with a large number of inflorescences-baskets at the ends of the shoots. The diameter of the inflorescences is 10-12 cm, chamomile-shaped. The color of the reed petals can be white, pink, red, burgundy, the disk of tubular flowers – yellow. Cosmea is photophilous, cold-resistant and drought-resistant. It is not demanding on soils, loose, but not very nutritious soils are best suited, since with an excess of nutrients, plants grow powerful, but bloom poorly. Seeds are sown in the ground, in late April - early May, or before winter. Shoots appear in 8-14 days. Shoots that are too thick are thinned out.
Used for decorating flower beds, decorating fences and buildings, as well as for cutting into bouquets.
