Physalis is a perennial herbaceous plant with a creeping rhizome. Better known as "Chinese lantern". The originality of this plant is that not flowers are decorative, but cups with fruits inside. After flowering, the calyx containing the fruit expands and turns orange-red. On one shoot, 10-15 such "lanterns" are formed. Blooms in July-August. The berries are small, cherry-shaped, orange-red, fragrant, pleasant to the taste. Location: photophilous. Winter-hardy. The soil is undemanding, but prefers those containing lime. Care includes watering, weeding, loosening. Seeds for seedlings are sown in March-April or in open ground from May to the first decade of August.

This physalis can be found in household plots, in cut flowers and in winter bouquets, in which it retains its decorative properties for a long time.
