Tomato Yusupovskiye

The tomato variety Yusupovskie was named after its author, breeder Karim Yusupov, an employee of the Uzbek Research Institute of Vegetable and Melon Crops. Tomatoes "Yusupovskiye" are considered one of the largest and most delicious tomatoes in the post-Soviet space.

In Russia, this variety is not widely distributed, because. tomato seeds are almost never found on sale. They are passed from grower to grower. But due to the naturalness of the variety, the seed for further breeding can be obtained from the previous harvest and grow "Yusupov" on the site from year to year.

Variety advantages: very large fruits with a delicate sweet taste, long-term fruiting, high resistance to nightshade diseases, undemanding care.

Characteristics of the variety

The plant is classified as an indeterminate species, because in a greenhouse, it grows up to 1.5-1.7 m, although in open ground the stems sometimes do not even reach one meter in height. A lot of dark green foliage and brushes with ovaries are formed on the bushes (6-8 pieces each). It is necessary to form bushes for 2 stems.

Fruits flat-round shape, very large:  minimum weight 0.4-0.5 kg; maximum – 1 kg and above. Pulp – fleshy, sugary, with a small content of seeds. Peel – thin, crack easily. The color of the tomatoes is raspberry red. Taste – sweet, without sourness.

Transportability, keeping quality of Yusupov – low. Tomatoes are unlikely to reach another region, but quite to the nearest market. Tomatoes should not be kept warm for a long time, they are best consumed and processed soon after picking. The purpose of the variety is salad, suitable for fresh consumption, preparation of snacks, first and second courses, sauces, pastes, juice.

The yieldof tomatoes is average 10-12 kg per 1 m². 6-8 fruits are formed on the bush, which compensate for their small number with huge sizes. Ripening dates for Yusupov – late, extended The first ripe tomatoes on the branches appear in August, and the last – harvested in autumn, when the season comes to an end.

To increase the yield of the variety, tomatoes are plucked at the stage of technical ripeness (in green or brown form). Then new fruits have time to start on the released branches, however, when they ripen in a plucked form, their taste qualities decrease.

Immunity. The variety is not susceptible to cladosporiosis, less resistant – to late blight, gray rot, black leg, fusarium wilt of fruits.

Growing conditions

Tomatoes "Yusupov" (Uzbek) produce a crop in any climatic zone in closed ground conditions. In southern latitudes, landing in open ground is allowed.

• The soil needs light, loose, nutritious. It is dug up in advance with organic fertilizers and watered abundantly. During planting, wood ash and superphosphate are added to the bottom of the hole.
• Plant pattern: between holes – 40 cm, between rows – 60 cm, no more than 3 plants per 1 m². So each bush will receive sufficient lighting and ventilation.
• In order for the taste and size of the fruits to correspond to the declared ones, the plants are watered abundantly: 7-10 liters of settled warm water under the bush. After each watering, the earth is loosened and mulched, weeds are removed.
• Feeding with organic matter, nitrogen-containing and potassium-phosphorus compounds is carried out during periods of growth, flowering and fruit ripening.
• In the greenhouse, the temperature regime is not higher than + 25-30 ° C, regular ventilation is organized.
• Shrubs require shaping and tying to supports.

Seedling selection

Before you buy seedlings of "Yusupov" tomatoes, inspect them carefully.

A quality healthy seedling:

• Shrubs – no more than 30 cm high, branched. The stem is strong, but not thick (the diameter of a regular pencil).
• Leaves – few (6-8 pcs.), whole, elastic, raised up. No wrinkling, yellowing, brown or black spots.
• Roots – shaped, moist, undamaged.
• The color of the seedlings is rich green. Pale, weak stems and leaves indicate a lack of light when growing seedlings.
