Tomato Hat Monomakh

Tomato "Cap of Monomakh" bred by a group of well-known Novosibirsk breeders consisting of V. Dederko, S. Ugarova and T. Postnikova. In 2007, the new variety was included in the State Register of the Russian Federation with a permit for cultivation in open ground and under film shelters on the basis of private farms in all Russian regions.

Variety advantages: large fruits, stable yield, good immunity to nightshade diseases.

Characteristics of the variety

Plant of the determinant type. The bushes are compact, in open ground 90-130 cm tall, in greenhouses – above, require shaping and garters. The leaf is large, dark green. Inflorescence – simple. Articulated stem.

Fruitsflat-round shape, with slight ribbing. The average weight of fruits – 264 gr. (according to the State Sortreestr). The color of ripe tomatoes is raspberry. Pulp – juicy, dense, contains 4-8 seed chambers. Peel – thin, cracks when wet. Taste – sweet, refreshing. Tasting score 5 out of 5.

Variety purpose: salad. Suitable for cooking, processing into juice, pasta, ketchup.

Productivity high, 7-20 kg per square meter. The ripening period is mid-season, 90-110 days from the moment of germination.

Immunityto the main diseases of tomatoes: phytophotore, powdery mildew, root and top rot, verticillium wilt, etc.

Growing conditions

Variety "Monomakh's Hat" well tolerates daily temperature changes and cold snap. Suitable for outdoor cultivation.

Variety care:

• Landing – 50×40 cm, 3-4 plants per 1 m².
• Watering is carried out 2 times in 7-10 days. At the same time, waterlogging of the soil is avoided, otherwise the fruits will crack. After watering, the earth is loosened.
• The plants are fed three times during the growing season – alternate organic and mineral fertilizers.
• Staging. The bushes are formed into 2 stems, the newly emerging stepchildren are removed.
• The greenhouse is regularly ventilated to prevent excess humidity and temperature.
• The bushes are tied to the trellis, because under the weight of large fruits, the stems can break.

Seedling selection

A quality healthy seedling:

• Shrubs – 30-35 cm high, branched. The stem is strong, but not thick (the diameter of a regular pencil).
• Leaves – few (6-7 pieces), whole, elastic, raised up. No wrinkling, yellowing, brown or black spots.
• Roots – shaped, moist, undamaged.
• The color of the seedlings is rich green. Pale, weak stems and leaves indicate a lack of light when growing seedlings.
• Age for landing at a permanent place – 60 days.
