Tomato Red River F1

Red River F1 tomato originators – GREENOMICA LTD (London/Moscow). The hybrid was included in the State Sort Register of the Russian Federation in 2012. Approved for cultivation in all Russian regions under film cover.

Variety advantages: large-fruited, early harvest, excellent taste and commercial qualities, immunity to common nightshade diseases, transportability.

Characteristics of the variety

Plant indeterminate, vegetative type with strong root system and tall leafy stems. Requires a garter. The foliage is dark green, medium to large. Inflorescence – simple, with 6-8 fruits. The first is formed over 9-11 leaves, the next every three leaves. Perhaps the appearance of brushes of an intermediate type. Articulated stem.

Fruits round, slightly ribbed, large. The average weight of fruits is 140-160 gr. Color – Dark red. Pulp – dense, juicy, with 4-6 seed nests. Peel – elastic.

Segment: fresh market. The variety is light, transportable, has an attractive presentation.

Variety purpose: salad. Suitable for fresh consumption, preparation of cold appetizers, first and second courses, processing into sauces, ketchup, lecho. Not suitable – for whole-fruit canning due to the large size of the tomatoes.

Yield of commercial fruits «RedRiver F1» – 12 kg/m². Ripening terms – early, friendly. The first ripe fruits appear on the branches on the 85-95th day from the moment of germination.

Growing conditions

Tomato variety "Red River F1" well tolerates temperature changes, the latter do not affect fruit set and crop formation. The hybrid is grown in film greenhouses of the 1st and 2nd turnover. The soil is chosen slightly acidic or neutral. Potash and organic fertilizers are used to increase the yield and saturation of fruits.

Seedling selection

Before you buy Red River F1 tomato seedlings, inspect it carefully.

A quality healthy seedling:

• Shrubs – 30-35 cm high, branched. The stem is strong, but not thick (the diameter of a regular pencil).
• Leaves – few (6-7 pieces), whole, elastic, raised up. No wrinkling, yellowing, brown or black spots.
• Roots – shaped, moist, undamaged.
• The color of the seedlings is rich green. Pale, weak stems and leaves indicate a lack of light when growing seedlings.
• Age for landing at a permanent place – 50-60 days.
