Tomato Moskvich

Tomato "Moskvich", bred by scientists of the Institute of Genetics. N.I Vavilova back in the 70s of the twentieth century, still remains one of the most popular varieties in the post-Soviet space. In 1976, the tomato was included in the State Register and approved for cultivation in open ground in the Northern, Northwestern, Central, Volga-Vyatka and East Siberian regions.

Variety advantages: early ripening, cold resistance, resistance to adverse growing conditions, high yield, unpretentious care, does not require pinching, suitable for personal and industrial cultivation.

Characteristics of the variety

Plant determinate type, standard, 40-50 cm high. The foliage is medium, the foliage is dark green, corrugated. The inflorescence is simple, compact, the first is laid over 6-8 leaves. On the main stem, 3-6 inflorescences are formed, 4-6 fruits in a brush. Articulated stem.

Fruitsround, slightly ribbed. Not very large – 55-75 gr. Peel – red, smooth. The pulp is juicy, contains up to 4 seed nests. The taste is pleasant, tomato.

Variety assignment. The variety is universal in application. "Moskvich" consumed fresh, used in cooking, canned for the winter.

Due to its good taste, appearance and resistance to transposition, the tomato is suitable for cultivation for sale.

Productivity commodity fruits is high – 146-445 q/ha; 10-14 kg with 1 m². Tomatoes ripen early, 90-95 days after germination.

Immunityto late blight, Alternaria, Fusarium, Verticillium wilt.

Growing conditions. Tomato "Moskvich" adapted to low temperatures. It grows well and bears fruit outdoors even in northern regions with short summers. Suitable for growing in the field.

Planting dates: Tomato seedlings are planted in open ground at the end of May – early June, after 2 weeks of hardening.

Seedling selection

Before you buy Moskvich tomato seedlings, carefully inspect it.

A quality healthy seedling:

• Shrubs – 30-35 cm high, branched. The stem is strong, but not thick (the diameter of a regular pencil).
• Leaves – few (6-7 pieces), whole, elastic, raised up. No wrinkling, yellowing, brown or black spots.
• Roots – shaped, moist, undamaged.
• The color of the seedlings is rich green. Pale, weak stems and leaves indicate a lack of light when growing seedlings.
• Age for landing at a permanent place – 55-60 days.
