Tomato Minusinsky apple

The variety of tomatoes "Apple Minusinsky", bred by Siberian breeders (Minusinsk). Differs in the increased fleshiness and sugar content of pulp. There are two types – Pink and Sleepy.

Variety advantages: high yield, large fruits, excellent taste.

Characteristics of the variety

Plant indeterminate, tall. In greenhouses, bushes grow by 1.8-2.5 m; in open ground – up to 1.6 m. Tall but fragile stems of "Apple Minusinsky"; tied to a trellis, otherwise they will break under the weight of the fruit.

Fruitsflat-round ribbed shape, large, average weight 300-600 gr. The pulp is very fleshy, sugary, there is little juice and seeds. The taste of tomatoes is sweet. Color – pink. Appointment – salad. Tomatoes do not tolerate transportation well.

The yieldof the variety is high: from 1 m² collect up to 25 kg of tomatoes, up to 6 kg – from the bush. Ripening terms are average, stretched – The first ripe tomatoes are harvested at the end of July and August. Harvested until the autumn cold.

Immunity. The culture is resistant to diseases and pests.

Growing conditions

The variety is adapted to the weather conditions of the Minusinsk basin. In Siberia, the tomato bears fruit well under film shelters and in greenhouses without heating. In the south "Minusinsk Apple" planted in open ground, but the fruits grow smaller.

• Planting pattern: 40×40 cm, 3-4 bushes per 1m².
• The variety is undemanding to the composition of the soil, in order to increase its fertility, before planting, a nutrient mixture of humus, superphosphate and eggshell powder is poured into the bottom of the hole.
• During the season, you can additionally feed the plants with mineral compounds for tomatoes and an organic solution. It is important not to overdo it with top dressing, so as not to harm the plants.
• The formation of a bush is carried out in 1 or 2 stems. All stepchildren, except for the one formed under the first brush, are removed as they appear.
• The thinning of the ovaries works to increase the mass of the fruit. The less they remain on the bush, the larger the size of the tomatoes. So for growing tomatoes weighing up to 300-400 gr., 7-8 ovaries are left in the brush. For the formation of giants – no more than 4 pcs

Seedling selection

Before you buy seedlings of Apple Minusinsky tomato varieties, carefully inspect it.

A quality healthy seedling:

• Shrubs – no more than 30 cm high, branched. The stem is strong, but not thick (the diameter of a regular pencil).
• Leaves – few (6-7 pieces), whole, elastic, raised up. No wrinkling, yellowing, brown or black spots.
• Roots – shaped, moist, undamaged.
• The color of the seedlings is rich green. Pale, weak stems and leaves indicate a lack of light when growing seedlings.
• Age for landing at a permanent place – 60-70 days.
