Tomato Mila

Variety of tomatoes «Mila» bred by Novosibirsk breeders P.Potapov and Ya.Zizina, employees of the Agrotechnical company «AGROS».  In 2013, the hybrid was included in the State Sort Register of the Russian Federation with a permit for cultivation in private farms in all regions of Russia in open ground and greenhouses.

Variety advantages: early ripening, original color and shape of the fruit, high taste and commercial qualities, the possibility of whole-fruit canning.  

Characteristics of the variety

Plant indeterminate, tall – in greenhouses reaches 1.7-1.9 m in height, in open ground – up to 1.5 m. Stems require garters. The leaves are dark green, medium-sized. Inflorescences are simple, the first is formed over the 7th leaf. Peduncle – with articulation. Tomatoes grow in clusters.

Fruits oval-bottle-shaped, medium-sized – 80 gr. Great for salting, fresh consumption, cooking various dishes, lecho, etc. Fruit color – yellow-orange. Pulp – dense, orange, with two seed chambers. Taste – sweet with sourness.

Productivity  marketable fruits in film shelters – 1.4-2 kg/m². Fruiting – extended, from July to the onset of autumn. When ripe, tomatoes can remain on the bush for a long time.

Growing conditions. In the regions of risky farming "Milu" it is recommended to grow in film tunnels and small-sized greenhouses; in warm climatic zones, the variety will give a full crop in open ground. Planting scheme 40x120 m. Plants are tied to supports.

Seedling selection

Before you buy seedlings of Mila tomatoes, inspect them carefully.

A quality healthy seedling:

• Shrubs – no more than 30 cm high, branched. The stem is strong, but not thick (the diameter of a regular pencil).
• Leaves – few (6-7 pieces), whole, elastic, raised up. No wrinkling, yellowing, brown or black spots.
• Roots – shaped, moist, undamaged.
• The color of the seedlings is rich green. Pale, weak stems and leaves indicate a lack of light when growing seedlings.
• Age for landing at a permanent place – 55-60 days.
