Bryansk Divo (Bryansk Miracle) was bred by Russian breeders — Academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences with the world name I.V. Kazakov and his student, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences S. N. Evdokimenko. The  creation work was carried out at Kokinsky stronghold (Bryansk region), which is the universally recognized "raspberry capital" Russia. The variety was obtained as a result of free pollination of a large-fruited interspecific numbered form 47 18 4, and in 2001, it was allocated to the elite under the number 8−79−2. In the year 2006 it received the name and already propagated as a new variety.

Features of the variety: Bryansk divo — large-fruited remontant variety of universal use with fruiting mainly on annual shoots. The bush is powerful, slightly sprawling, open type, formed mainly from 4 & minus 6 stems. Raspberry shoots are erect, thick, 1.5 × 1.8 meters high, covered with numerous rather prickly green thorns. The flowers are white in color, medium in size, up to 1 cm in diameter, raspberry bloom is abundant and long.

Early ripening period, long fruiting, 90% yield before frost, which is important when choosing raspberries for planting by residents of the northern regions. Good stable yield. The most beautiful spectacular berries of a memorable uniform shape (excellent presentation). And also their size — large and very large. Frost resistance up to -25 ° C, but this is rather relative. After all, there is no ground part, for obtaining a second crop, like the tutaymera variety, the Bryansk wonder is not suitable, and therefore, there is nothing to freeze out — all shoots are cut at the end of the season, leaving only the most important for raspberries — root system. Well, the root, protected by soil and covered for the winter period with a layer of mulch, especially if the winter is snowy, is completely safe until spring. Open habit of the bush, most of the fruits are not covered with leaves.

Planting: The best period for planting the Bryansk Diva is mid-spring or early autumn. The air temperature should be within 8-12 °C.

  1. First, they dig a trench 20-30 cm deep and 40 cm wide. All rows are located at a distance of 1.5 m.
  2. At the bottom of the trench, fertilizers from compost and manure are poured with a layer of 15 cm. Superphosphate is sprinkled on top at the rate of 20 g per bush and mixed with the ground.
  3. Seedlings are laid out at a distance of 1 m from each other. Holding them vertically, they are sprinkled with soil, before spreading the roots. Falling asleep, make sure that the root neck is located at ground level. Next, the bushes are watered at the rate of 1 bucket of water under each bush.
  4. The trunk circle of the Bryansk diva is mulched with fallen leaves, needles, sawdust or straw.
  5. After planting, the seedlings are shortened at a distance of 25 cm from the ground and tied to hammered pegs.

Irrigation:

The root system of this variety is very well developed, but located close to the surface. Therefore, regular watering, especially on hot days, is necessary for the normal development of the plant.

Water the bushes when the topsoil dries sufficiently. To do this, pour 15-20 liters under each plant. water.

Crop:

For the normal development of shoots and fruits, the Bryansk wonder needs regular pruning. It is carried out with a sharp garden pruner to prevent damage to the plant.

  • The first time the plant is pruned in the spring, when the side branches have formed. To stimulate the development of fruits and upper shoots, the lower shoots are removed.
  • To get two harvests per season, during autumn pruning, only those branches where the ovary was located are removed.
  • To get an early harvest in autumn, after picking the berries, all shoots are cut at ground level.

The annual autumn circumcision of the Bryansk diva under the root has a number of advantages:

  1. All pests are removed along with the shoots, so healthy shoots grow in spring.
  2. Such rejuvenation of the bushes has a positive effect on the development of plants and fruits.
  3. After getting a double crop, the bush is greatly weakened. Therefore, after autumn pruning, a stronger plant grows.
  4. The amount of autumn harvest and the volume of berries are increasing.
  5. There is no problem of freezing bushes, so you do not need to think about sheltering plants for the winter.

In order to stimulate the growth of bushes a few weeks earlier, which means getting an early harvest – in spring, after the snow melts, the bushes are covered with foil.
