Valdai raspberry variety characterized by large sweet fruits and high yields. And such a characteristic as winter and frost resistance allows you to grow raspberries even in northern latitudes.
Valdai variety planted and transplanted at the very beginning of the garden season, in the spring. After planting, the soil is generously watered and mulched. For planting raspberries, loamy soil with high water permeability and sufficient humus content is perfect. The variety loves sunlight, it is important to remember this when choosing a place for planting.
For better yields and reduced risk of disease, we recommend not planting raspberries too densely. Leave between plants – 60-90 cm. For several years, avoid raspberries near blackberries, rosehips, roses, apple trees, stone fruit trees, such as plums, etc. Also undesirable for Valdai neighbors such as potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, bulbous flowers and plants.
Care: raspberry «Valdai» loves fertile, moist soil. Needs nourishment.
During the ripening period of berries, it is especially necessary to ensure that raspberries do not experience a lack of moisture. Otherwise – yields can drop drastically. When watering, follow the – better less often, but more intensively, than often, but little by little. 1 abundant watering per week is enough.
With proper care, weeding, fertilizing with peat and compost, timely watering, – the variety will delight you with an abundance of large and juicy berries.
