The neutral variety "Cabrillo", bred by American breeders, is gaining popularity in Russia. It outperformed similar sized varieties such as Albion and San Andreas in terms of yield potential. According to breeders' estimates, under normal conditions: on the open ground, up to 1.5 kg of berries can be harvested from a bush, with more careful care – up to 2 kg. With professional cultivation, the yield reached 3.6 kg per bush.
Strawberries are perfectly adapted to late (spring-summer) planting, have good immunity. Fruits from late June to October.
The fruits of the Cabrillo strawberries are quite dense, but not hard. Berries delight with a sweet, juicy taste, with a slight hint of sourness. Suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for processing, canning, freezing. The variety is interesting for home gardening.
Since the spring of 2018, the Cabrillo strawberry variety has been is under compliance control.
