Variety Bianka Fragola (Bianka Fragola No. 5) – new for 2020 on the white strawberry market, the result of the efforts of BERRYLAV nursery breeders. Exotic color and taste, safety for adults and children allergic to anthocyanins, make white Bianca an attractive and promising variety for Russian gardeners.
Varie Features
Bushes of white cans are compact, sometimes taking up less space than red garden strawberries. The mustache variety breeds.
Strawberry fruits of a beautiful rounded shape, medium size – 20-30 gr., pulp is juicy, notes of pineapple and peach are pronounced in taste. As for color, as the berries ripen, their green color changes to whitish. Strawberries can turn orange or pink when exposed to the sun. As soon as the seeds of Bianchi turn red, it can be eaten, this is the main sign of the ripeness of this white strawberry variety.
Lack of culture: does not tolerate transportation and long-term storage, because the berry is soft and juicy. For this reason, white strawberries are more often grown for fresh personal consumption than for sale.
A huge plus of White Bianca: it is recommended for people allergic to red berries (anthocyanins), including children.
Planting and care
White Bianca is grown outdoors, in a greenhouse, in containers. It also lends itself to cultivation "without soil", in city farms. In this regard, the compact size of the plant plays an important role.
In general, caring for white strawberries (planting, watering, feeding) is not much different from caring for traditional red garden strawberries. Nevertheless, like any exotic, white strawberries still require some attention, primarily due to low immunity to external factors.
The most dangerous for white Bianca is gray rot, which often attacks the berry in rainy weather. Of the pests, white strawberries are not indifferent: weevil, spider mite, bear. Therefore, agricultural technicians are advised to carry out advance processing of plantings with special compounds. Also, as an excellent means for the prevention of diseases, strawberries will be transplanted to a new place, with a frequency of 1 time in 4 years and remoteness from raspberry plantings, with which Bianchi has common "enemies".
For the winter, white-fruited strawberries are recommended to be hidden under a film or a special covering material, which is removed in the spring, after the risk of return frosts has passed and stable warm weather is established.
Reproduction
Bianca Fragola breeds exclusively with whiskers. Strong healthy shoots are separated in August and immediately transplanted to a permanent place.
Be prepared for the fact that strawberries of this variety take on the characteristics of the original (mother) plant, including diseases that cannot be eliminated.
Therefore, when purchasing strawberry seedlings Bianca Fragola (Bianka Fragola No. 5), be extremely careful, buy seedlings only in proven metas – specialized stores and nurseries.
