Mid-ripening table potatoes Tuleevsky were bred by scientists from the Research Institute of Agriculture in Kemerovo by crossing several varieties of Russian and Canadian selection. The potato got its name in honor of the governor of the Kemerovo region Aman Tuleyev. In 2006, the culture was included in the State Register with permission for cultivation in Western and Eastern Siberia. However, despite the official recommendations, the variety was quickly mastered by the farmers of the Urals, the Far East, and Central Russia.
Varieties:
- Resistant to sudden cooling, temperature extremes, frost, drought.
- Large tubers.
- Immunity to a number of potato diseases
- Long-term storage without loss of quality.
Varie Features

Tubers round-oval, large, average weight 125-260 gr. (individual root crops & nbsp; can reach 500 gr.). Peel – beige, smooth with roughness. Eyes – rare, small, shallow. Pulp – light yellow, dense. Starch content 14-17%.
Potato "Tuleevsky" has a pronounced, rich taste and aroma. Retains shape and color during heat treatment. Type in cooking В/С – suitable for soups, side dishes, mashed potatoes, frying, baking.
Root crops have a marketable appearance, are resistant to damage, are stored for a long time without losing their qualities, and tolerate transportation well. Marketability 88-99%. Keeping – 90%.
Yieldaverage – 180-425 centners per hectare, maximum – 458 q/ha (recorded in Omsk). The number of marketable tubers in the bush is 8-14 pcs. "Tuleevsky" refers to mid-season varieties, the period from germination to harvest is 80-100 days.
Immunity. The variety is resistant to potato cancer, scab, late blight. Susceptible to infection by the golden cyst nematode. With improper care, it can become ill with rhizoctoniosis and mosaic virus. The main pests – Colorado potato beetle, wireworm, bear.
Potato Tuleevsky is one of the most productive varieties suitable for growing in difficult conditions of «meager» soils and sharply continental climate. In the northern regions, its popularity is steadily growing. For areas with high rainfall, potatoes are most likely not suitable.
Deadlines. In Siberia, the variety is planted in the second half of May, when the soil warms up to at least + 15 ° C and up to 15-20 cm – in depth. The further south the region, the earlier the landing. Before lowering into the ground, seed potatoes are laid out in the sun, so the seedlings will be quick and friendly.
Soil. Feature of – unpretentiousness to the composition of the soil. In order to enrich the soil in the fall, a small amount of rotted manure or compost can be spread over the site, and then carefully dug up with the ground. Fertilizers are not laid in the planting holes, because. "Tuleevsky" does not like excess organic top dressing. It is important to choose a site with low groundwater for potatoes.
Planting. Seed tubers are buried 10-15 cm deep in separate holes, keeping an indent of 40-60 cm. Planting in furrows is not recommended.
Irrigation. It is necessary to water the variety only during a prolonged drought, focusing on the condition of the soil, because. the plant reacts poorly to an excess of moisture.
Hilling. High occurrence of the root system of Tuleevsky causes tubers to become exposed. Therefore, it is important to timely and carefully carry out the hilling of plants. At least 3 times per season: when the tops reach a height of 15 cm, at the beginning of flowering bushes and 20 days before harvest. At the same time, it is important to rake the earth high – on 2/3 of the bush.
Feeding. The variety does not require mineral fertilizers. Once a season, you can feed the site with wood ash and a solution of bird droppings. If signs of a lack of boron are found, namely, the rapid withering of young shoots and leaf deformation, it is necessary to immediately compensate for the lack of an element. It is important not to get carried away with organic matter, because. due to an overabundance of the latter, the quality of tubers decreases and their shelf life is reduced.
Planting material. Seed potatoes should weigh more than 30 grams, but less than 100. Ideal tuber weight – 40-65 gr. It is best of all to select uniform, even, healthy root crops. Deformed, damaged and spoiled seeds are not suitable for planting.
Beware of counterfeit planting material! Buy seed potatoes "Tulevsky" in nurseries and specialized stores.
