Devil Gala – mutation of the famous variety Gala of Italian origin. The species was bred by breeder Vivai Zanzi specifically for southern Europe, where there was a problem with fruit staining.

Variety advantages: large fruits, consistently high yields, winter hardiness.

Characteristics of the variety

Treemedium height, vigorous.

Fruits round-cylindrical, large. Average weight – 160-180 gr. The skin is glossy with a uniform red-crimson color. Pulp – yellow, juicy with a crunch. Taste – sweet with pear aftertaste.

The fruits are characterized by increased keeping quality and long shelf life: in heat – up to 4 months, refrigerated – 6-7 months.

Variety assignment: universal – fresh consumption, cooking, preparations.

Productivity is stable, 40-75 kg of apples are harvested from one tree per season. To get the maximum harvest, next to the "Gala Devils" Pollinating apple trees are planted with the same flowering period. Suitable neighbor varieties: Braeburn, Golden Delicious, Golden Jam, Granny Smith, Fuji.

Date maturation: early – the second half of September (25 days earlier than Golden Delicious). Harvesting takes place in two stages.

Immunity. The apple tree is moderately resistant to scab and powdery mildew.

Growing conditions. Gala Devil variety is recommended for planting in the fourth climatic zone with winter temperatures up to –34.4°C. The apple tree grows well and bears fruit in the Urals, Siberia, the Moscow region and the Central region. In areas with severe and little snowy winters, the near-stem area and the lower part of the trees are additionally insulated.
