Siberian spruce (Picea obovata) – representative of the northern forests of mixed type. Most often found in the European part of Russia, in the Urals, in Western and Eastern Siberia, the Amur region, as well as in the north of China and Mongolia.

Saplings of the "forest beauty" were borrowed from the wild, cultivated and successfully used in landscape design, planted in home gardens.

Variety advantages: high frost resistance, unpretentiousness, slow growth, no need for regular pruning.

Appearance

Tree20-30 meters high with a straight massive trunk with a circumference of 70-100 cm. The bark of a young tree is light, thin, turns brown with age. Bottom – covered with furrows, from above begins to exfoliate. The rhizome is located on the surface of the soil, strongly branched. Crown – pyramidal in shape, the top has a clearly defined triangular silhouette, sometimes bifurcates. The shoots are dense, branching from the trunk.

Needles of a hard type, prickly, up to 2 cm long. Bright green needles of young spruce, gradually darkening to dark green.

Cones wide, up to 6 cm long. Ripens in early autumn. The scales are round, brown. Seeds are dark gray, 0.5 cm.

Destination. Even a young and low Siberian spruce looks very impressive in any environment. In addition, it goes well with trees of other conifers, gets along with different plants. Therefore, a Christmas tree can often be found along city boulevards, in parks, squares, squares, as well as in suburban, country, garden plots.
