The early high-yielding table potato variety Rosara was bred in Germany, the originator – SaKa Pflanzenzucht GbR. In 1996, the variety was accepted by the State Register of the Russian Federation and recommended for cultivation in almost all regions of Russia: in Siberia, the Central Black Earth region, the Urals, the Far East, and the North Caucasus.

Varie Features

Plant strong, medium height, with small leaves. Potato blooms with pink-purple flowers.

Tubes are one-dimensional, aligned, oval in shape, with a smooth pinkish-red skin, with few eyes. Pulp – dense, light yellow. The taste of potatoes is soft, not cloying, without bitterness. The starch content is 12.1-15.8%, which is considered the norm for early varieties.

Mass of tubers: average – 80-110 gr.; maximum – 150 gr. Presentation, good storage and resistance to transportation – make "Rozara" ideal for commercial cultivation.

Planting and care

Variety «Rozara» unpretentious to the place of growth, care and weather conditions. Farmers and gardeners receive full-fledged potato crops even in zones of "risk farming". The agricultural technique of the variety also does not seem to be special – enough time to water, feed, weed and spud plants.

Terms of planting. Like many early varieties of potatoes, "Rozaru" planted in well-warmed (at least up to 12-15 ° C) soil. Mostly in the 2nd half of May, after the threat of return frosts is completely gone, because. when cooled, plant growth stops.

Soil. For planting varieties, fertile soils are chosen, loose, breathing with slightly acidic or neutral pH (loam, sandy loam, black soil). Open sunny areas are well suited after legumes, winter crops, perennial grasses.

Irrigation. If the summer turned out to be dry and hot, it is necessary to organize watering of potatoes: 2-4 times per season. During rainy periods, the beds are not watered. The water supply is completely stopped two weeks before harvest.

Loosening. For the first time, the soil is loosened when shoots appear, thereby saturating it with oxygen. Further, the procedure is carried out after each watering or rain to break the hard crust formed on the surface of the earth.

Hilling. Potatoes are hilled twice a season, when the plant reaches a height of 15 and 25 cm.

Feeding. When potatoes are planted at the bottom of the hole, humus is introduced, it will serve as a source of nutrients, which are usually enough for the entire growing season. If the growth of plants slows down or there is no flowering, you can water the bushes with a diluted infusion of weeds (1: 5), and add ash as a source of potassium.

Diseases and pests. «Rozara» little susceptible to fungal diseases. The variety has: increased resistance to potato nematode, cancer pathotype I, viruses Y and L; satisfactory – to the "black leg", late blight, common scab. Requires preventive measures against the attack of the Colorado potato beetle.
