The variety of strawberries (garden strawberries) "Lord", bred by English breeders, has become widespread in Russia due to its unpretentiousness, simple cultivation and the ability to acclimatize in any latitudes, including the Siberian regions.
Lord Berries fragrant, dark red, regular shape. The fruits are quite large. The mass of berries of the first harvest – 60-80 gr. (with proper care up to 100 gr). Mass collection – 30-40 gr. The last berry shrinks to 15-20 gr. Productivity from a bush – up to 1 kg.
The pulp of "Lord" juicy yet dense. Therefore, the berries tolerate transportation and storage well, and in the preparations – do not dissolve. Suitable for industrial production and sale.
Thanks to good winter hardiness – without shelter, the variety tolerates temperatures down to -20 ° C. However, in Siberia and Altai, it is still recommended to cover strawberries until the first cold weather. Also "Lord" resistant to spring frosts.
The variety loves the sun, so if you want to get a high yield, plant strawberries in open areas where there is a lot of sunlight. In prolonged rainy weather, the berries become sour, and the aroma disappears. If the summer turned out to be rainy, it is better to cover the strawberries with a film. In dry weather, watering is carried out twice a week. The variety loves top dressing, especially organic matter.
There is an opinion that "Lord" you can not transplant 8-10 years. However, with this approach, the berries are very small. After 4-5 years, it is better to change the plot.
